1. Fix typography.
   1. Level 1 use only one font
   2. Level 2 use superfamilies like Source sans pro, Source serif pro and Source code pro.
   3. Level 3 well matched font combos. Start with one font for say headlines: the anchor font. Then find another font to match that one. The anchor should match the brand of the business. Checkout Fonts in Use
2. Star of the Show one thing that makes your web site stand out.
3. Visual rhyming. repeat details across the site. eg. custom button design. Use shapes, colours, textures.
4. Add depth using texture or 3D elements. But be subtle - should compete with the star of the show.
5. Use opacity on text for heirarchy: Material design uses 87%, 60% opacity. Subtle but can make a page feel intentional
